The Community and Family Historical Preservation (CFHPA) opened its doors in 2015 thanks to the valiant effort of several community members who came together to acquire the property once it became available for sale. Unbeknownst to many, the site was home of the historical George Washington Carver School.  It is a 2-building complex with the original gymnasium still intact.

Plans are to renovate and preserve the gymnasium and continue to use it for various programs and events. In recognition of the site's historical value and CFHPA's preservation efforts, the Texas Historical Commission recently granted CFHPA a historical marker. The marker will be ceremonially unveiled in early 2020. Members of the public who stop to inspect the historical marker will be able to learn more about the site and the history of the surrounding community.

Currently, our larger building The Grove , is available for weddings and receptions, quincenearas, birthday parties and CFHPA Special Fundraising events. The Carver, CFHPA's smaller building has been used for business meetings, such as, Indian Creek 4-H Club, the Beech Grove Volunteer Fire Department, CFHPA Board Meetings and other community meetings and smaller scale events.

CFHPA is a federally recognized 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization. Our Tax ID is 83-1131275.
