The Preservation Fund
The Preservation Fund supports CFHPA’s ongoing work to protect, restore, and maintain the historic property that once housed the George Washington Carver School — a cornerstone of the Dixie Freedom Colony.
Our commitment is simple: Preserve the past. Protect the present. Inspire the future.
The Carver gymnasium, original structures, and surrounding grounds are sacred pieces of our history. They represent resilience, community, and the determination of families who built a life here despite extraordinary challenges. While repairs, restoration, and upkeep are needed, CFHPA is committed to preserving the integrity and character of the site. The buildings will not be altered beyond what is necessary to protect and maintain them.
Your contribution to the Preservation Fund helps us:
• Restore and maintain historic structures
• Protect the grounds and historical marker
• Support preservation projects and community education
• Ensure the site remains a place of learning, gathering, and heritage
Every gift — large or small — strengthens our ability to safeguard our legacy and share its story with future generations.
Thank you for partnering with us in preservation.
